RENIDAN vit

Renidan VIT® is a complex formula that supports kidney health in cats and dogs suffering from acute and chronic renal insufficiency.

Indications

Renidan VIT® is indicated in kidney diseases of dogs and cats. This triple action formula supports kidney health by:

·   absorbing uremic toxins from the digestive tract.

·   decreasing the food availability of phosphorus by binding it at the intestinal level.

·   controlling the inflammatory and enzymatic processes and slowing the progression of renal fibrosis.

PRESENTATION OF THE COMPONENTS

Calcium Carbonate reduces the availability of phosphorus through the chelating effect. In patients with IRC, phosphorus contributes to the intensification of the symptoms of this condition. Calcium carbonate is separated at the level of the digestive tract, and calcium ions, which are released as a result of this reaction, binds with the phosphate present in the feed and form calcium phosphate that is insoluble and non-absorbable.

Chitosan is a polymer obtained from the chitin extracted from the hard shell that envelops many marine and terrestrial creatures. Chitosan is a polysaccharide extracted from the shell of crustaceans through a process called deacetylation. The process of deacetylation increases the activity of the chitosan, improving its solubility in the acidic environment of the stomach. It is a polysaccharide with extremely complex effects on the health of the animal.

When used in combination with Calcium Carbonate as a product to support phosphorus coupling in the digestive tract, it produces a decrease in the concentration of phosphorus in blood serum, a decrease in parathormone levels and a decrease in urinary phosphorus secretion. Chitosan is a kidney protector that helps eliminate uremic toxins. The administration of these products can be considered an alternative to the veterinary diets dedicated to dogs and cats with IRC.

Methionine is an essential amino acid that can not be produced by the animal organism. Methionine has the property of acidifying urine. The metabolic acidification of the urine is the most effective prophylactic treatment against recurrent reno-urinary calculi of calcium oxalate and struvites, or against chronic urinary infections with urea-dependent bacteria.

Quercetin is a bioflavonoid with antioxidant and immunomodulatory action. It inhibits both enzymes that intervene in the appearance of prostaglandins and leukotrienes – the main mediators of inflammations, and the production of histamine by stabilizing the level of basophils and mast cells.

Glucosamine protects the mucosa of the lower urinary tract from bacteria and toxins, being a precursor component of glycosaminoglycans.

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that has the property of soothing anxious animals by increasing the amount of serotonin.

Standardized Rhubarb Extract (Rheum rhabarbarum) has demonstrated effects in protecting kidney tissue. Progressive renal fibrosis is caused by inflammatory processes, this leads to the reduction of functional tissue. Rhubarb, through its bioactive compounds (parietin, folic acid, tannin) helps to control inflammatory and enzymatic processes. Studies show that rhubarb reduces the expression of fibrinogenesis mediators and has a positive impact on blood pressure control.

Standardized Cranberry Extract (Vaccinium

macrocarpon) is rich in proanthocyanidins (PACs)

and serves as a valuable component within this

product, actively deterring the attachment of

harmful bacteria to the urinary tract. This

property holds the potential to effectively

decrease the risk of urinary tract infections

(UTIs). Furthermore, the extract's antioxidant

attributes play a crucial role in addressing

oxidative stress and inflammation. By fostering a

healthier kidney environment, it aids in the

regulation of inflammatory processes,

contributing to overall kidney function.

Vitamin D3 In animals suffering from renal insufficiency, the body's ability to synthesize the active form of vitamin D3 is reduced, which is why supplementation with this vitamin is recommended.
